I have always envied those who leave it all behind to spend a year traipsing around the world. I would sit in my apartment, reading about the adventures of others and dreaming about where I would go if I could. Then it hit me – I could go. From that moment on I started to plan my trip around the world – it wouldn’t be one long epic journey instead I would see the world one extended vacation at a time. To date I have visited 34 countries, seen 96 ‘places see before you die’, visited 4 of the Wonders of the World and stepped on 6 continents. I have photographed some of the most amazing things I could ever imagine and as much as I have seen – there is so much more.
I originally started this blog to avoid clogging the inboxes of my family and friends on future vacations. Then I started to post old e-mails and write about past adventures, it started to serve as a keepsake for my memories. When you need an escape from work or the literary equivalent of a warm glass of milk, I invite you to read my ramblings…feel free to leave comments and tell me of your adventures.
- So that was a long time ago. It's crazy how much is different and how much hasn't changed at all. I am now living in my fourth country, my country count is well over 60 and I surpassed my goal of 100/1000 Places to See Before You Die about 4 years ago. But the essence is the same...it is possible to see the world...one trip at a time!
